new info SBSB/Beadwork merger

Hi Everyone,

I have new information about the merger between step by step beads and beadwork. I emailed the editor of beadwork to find out if they would be accepting stringing and/or wire project submissions in Beadwork now that they were merging with SBSB. She emailed back that Beadwork will continue to focus on bead weaving and seed beads, but will NOT HAVE ANY stringing or wirework projects at all.

So, beadweavers rejoice--your magazine is not changing. Stringing, wireworkers, and multi media people--we get nothing.

So the whole hype about "merging" is totally PR spin. There is no merger as far as I can tell--SBSB is just going out of business and Beadwork will remain a bead weaving only publication.

 Maybe there should be a new "Fusion" magazine which could incorporate all the techniques that fall through the cracks.  Just an idea in case anyone's listening :)

So if that is true, it's sad and unfair, trying to make stringing, wirework and multimedia people sign up to the "new" magazine, just to find out that there are no projects for them in the magazine.

 Sounds a bit like false advertising to me. Not accusing or anything, just saying, ya know.
