My Bio

Hello everyone, my name is Melinda but I generally go by Mindy

I used to bead on a small loom when I lived in Cape May NJ as a teenager and then found beading again after the birth of my daughter Isabella in 2000. My son Ian was born in 2003 and they both enjoy stringing, braiding & creating with all the beads we have at home.  I mostly string right now but would love to do more someday.   My husband enjoys our hobby as a willing observer.

We live in Juneau, Alaska at the base of the downtown Avalanche Zone.  Juneau is located in the Tongass National Rainforest which covers most of Southeast Alaska and is beautiful & very inspirational for beading.  I was born in New London CT, lived in Trepassey & St Anthony Newfoundland Canada, as well as on Long Island & Staten Island NY ~ one brother was born in Amityville, Woodbridge VA, Cape May NJ and went to college in Winchester VAGeeked

I am now employed Full-Time by the Alaska Department of Corrections. I am a Procurement Specialist meaning I shop for a living & I love to shop for bargains.

    Neck Measurement:  shortest comfortable length is 16" = 40.64 cm

    Necklace Size:  I would say I love them all from chokers to long for loopingStick out tongue

    Favorite Colors: I love anything bright & cheery like greens, purples, yellows, blues, & oranges way more than reds, grays & blacks.  I think of brown as a neutral along with white.

    Metals: I can wear it all & I do, Gold is my favorite with Copper a close 2nd, silver is still good to wearWink

    Necklace Styles: I love all things beady, please be creative & have lots of fun... I know already I will love itBig Smile

    About Me: I was born in the year of the Tiger 1962, I am a Leo but I'm allergic to catsSurprise  My birthstone is Peridot.  I have blonde hair, hazel eyes and a not-so-pale skintone (I tan well when there is sunshine)Cool

    I love to wear jeans with everything in almost any color.  For example I have worn my favorite "Shade of Dark Chatreuse or Olivine" sweater over a Royal Purple blouse one day, the same sweater again with Turquoise blouse and yet a 3rd time with Fuschia blouse.  I am definitely not afraid of colorCool

    Wrist Measurement:  6.75" / 17.145cm

    Bracelet Size:  I would say 7.25" might be comfortable though the one I wear alot is a very loose 8"
